STEP 23: KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS

STEP 23: KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS

I have spent two years, studying the work of experts in the field of autoimmunity and have combined what I’ve learned, in 24 steps.  I’ll be sharing one step every week for the next 24 weeks, on my website and social media platforms (starting Monday 18 May 2020).  This is step 23 of 24.

STEP 23: KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PROGRESS

The best way to stay motivated is to see, feel and be aware of the positive changes in your body and mind. For this reason, we encourage you to do a self-assessment before you start your healing journey, again after 3 months and then again after 6 and 12 months.

Before you start your healing journey, set aside a few minutes to do a self-assessment.  If you’ve worked through the 24 steps with me, you would’ve done this in step 4.  You made a list of all your health concerns and symptoms, including symptoms that you don’t necessarily link to your disease. For example, if you are diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and you have occasional constipation, joint pain and constipation should be on your symptoms list. You then rated your symptoms on a scale of 1 – 5 based on the severity and frequency of the symptoms.

Redo the self-assessment again after 3, 6 and 12 months and compare your total scores.  The lower your score the better.  It is incredible to see how your health improves over time, even if it doesn’t feel that way.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by everything you need to know and do to fight your disease?  The good news is that I’ve created a 6-month online program called the Autoimmune Way.  In the program you are gently guided through the many steps you can take to fight your disease.
