I have spent two years, studying the work of experts in the field of autoimmunity and have combined what I’ve learned, in 24 steps. I’ll be sharing one step every week for the next 24 weeks, on my website and social media platforms (starting Monday 18 May 2020). This is step 4 of 24.

STEP 4: DO A SELF-ASSESSMENT BEFORE YOU START
Before you start any type of disease management or healing program, set aside a few minutes to do a self-assessment. Make a list of all your symptoms. Include symptoms that you don’t necessarily link to your disease. For example, if you are diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and you have occasional constipation, joint pain and constipation should be on your symptoms list. Now rate your symptoms on a scale of 1 – 5 based on the severity and frequency of the symptoms.
Add up the ratings for all symptoms and write down or remember your total score. Keep the list of symptoms, as you will be using the same list when you do the self-assessment again, 3 months after starting a disease management or healing program, and then again after 6 and 12 months. This simple exercise will help you keep track of the progress you make.
I created the below easy to use self-assessment tool for you to download.
