The recipes in the cook book were carefully selected by Monica Woolridge, the creator of the Art of Undieting program. Monica studied nutrition at the New York based Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is on a mission to help people transform their lives through dietary and lifestyle programs. She is passionate about changing the perception that healthy food is boring and bland, and that dieting, starvation and restriction is required to lose weight and be healthy.
The recipes are made with real, unprocessed, whole food ingredients, designed to fuel the body for optimal health, immunity and performance. All the recipes are free from grains, legumes, dairy (mostly), artificial ingredients, refined sugar, alcohol, preservatives and additives. The recipes are naturally low in carbohydrates and high in nutrients.
Monica firmly believes and teaches that balance is important and that dieting is not a long-term solution to your weight-loss and health goals. Falling in love with eating delicious real food is.
We are blessed with beautiful warm weather in the southern hemisphere and there is no need to follow holiday food trends originating from the States and Europe. Out with the oven roasts, baked puddings and eggnog and in with braai’s, salads, fruit lollies and the occasional chocolate delight.
The cook book includes mouth watering menus for a Summer Picnic, a Christmas Feast and a New Year’s Celebration. You will also find a selection of recipes for Healthy Chocolate Treats, Cool Kids Meals and a few “The Morning After” remedies to get you out of bed and ready for adventures after a few too many cocktails the night before.
