The problem with following a low carb or paleo lifestyle is that we often have to come up with healthy treats for our families. We then create these super delicious fat bombs by replacing grains, dairy and sugar with nuts, coconut milk and cream, dates and healthy oils. I call this the “calorie conundrum”. All these treats might be healthier than sugary sweets, biscuits and chocolates but are still extremely high in calories and refined sugar.
These apple crisps are perfectly crunchy, super delicious and low in calories. For a special treat, serve it with our healthy chocolate dip, just be mindful of the calorie conundrum.
